Soil Suction system
The best method to reduce radon, and prevent it from ever entering the home, is by creating a negative suction below the basement slab and venting it above the roof using a radon mitigation fan. A soil suction system may use multiple suction points to effectively remove radon gas from below the basement slab.
Radon Sump system
A radon sump system attaches to an existing sump pump and drain tile system. Since the packed soil around the perimeter has been replaced with river rock and a 4 inch drain pipe, the fan can easily attract gasses from the entire basement. In a sump system, only one suction point is needed.
